The
Croisette is undoubtedly the place to be for all kinds of
entertainment. We're all familiar with the Palais des Festivals,
which hosts the famous Cannes Film Festival. But that's not the
only event organised on the legendary boulevard de la Croisette.
Events and exhibitions are scheduled throughout the
year.
La
Croix des gardes, a green escape in the heart of Cannes
:
Less
than a kilometre as the crow flies from the legendary Croisette,
lies La Croix des gardes park. A true haven of nature, it's the
ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, go for a
walk and do some sport. As you
get higher up, you gradually discover the magnificent landscapes of
the Bay of Cannes, the Lérins islands and the surrounding
mountains, such as the Estérel massif and the Pre-Alps. This 360°
panoramic view around Cannes is the town's highest
point.
Le
Suquet :
This
small hill overlooking Cannes is, in a way, the soul of the town.
This is where it all began, when Cannes was just a village. Today,
the cobbled streets are a delight to wander through. The
bougainvilleas in bloom when the weather's fine, and the small
courtyards that follow one another, are all reminders of the Cannes
of yesteryear.
The Lerins Islands:
In the
turquoise waters of the Bay of Cannes, facing the tip of the
Croisette, the two islands cultivate an art of living that blends
nature and culture heritage, just 15 minutes by boat from the Old
Port.
Sainte-Marguerite
Island
The
larger of the two is the ideal place to explore the flora and
fauna, swim from creek to creek or visit the cell of the man in the
iron mask. The perfect getaway for families and friends.
The
island of Saint-Honorat
The
smallest of the islands is the ideal destination for lovers of
history and heritage. You can visit the monastery and its tower,
which offers a breathtaking view of the island, its vineyards and
the Esterel massif.
